In a recent interview with Kathleen Kennedy, Film Producer and President of LucasFilm she was asked about how the will the stand alone films stacks up to the Prequels/Sequels. Kathleen responded:
"It just so happens to be Rogue One is the precursor to New Hope and yes, this Han Solo idea but I would not argue that we are setting up any kind of prequel notion with these standalone movies. I think that’s so far just coincidence. And to be perfectly honest, we have changed the order of those at the last minute, so that’s not the intention at all."
So what is this last minute order change? With the slate of films set to be released by one film in particular that might be affected is that of the stand alone Boba Fett Film. As far as we know Boba Fett died in the sarlacc pit in Return of the Jedi, but survived in the Legendary Novelization of The Bounty Hunter Wars. It was followed up with an interview between George Lucas and LucasFilm Historian J.W. Rinzler. When J.W. asked George if Boba Fett was alive this was the response:
“Yes, he does. I have been in meetings with George where he confirms that Fett survived. If it comes from George then it’s true!”
Now with the acquisition of Lucasfilm by Disney and and the removal of George from the Powers that be is Boba Fett Still alive? Ultimately, Disney and LucasFilm will let us know about the most famous Bounty Hunter in the galaxy. If you have read Star Wars: Aftermath it was shown that someone was buying the famous Boba Fett Armor. So how did his armor find the way out of the Sarlacc pitt? Did scavengers find the armor or did Boba Fett escape? From what we learned at Star Wars Celebration Pablo Hidalgo told us that “Boba Fett is both simultaneously alive and dead in the Sarlacc pit until a story pulls him out.”
Sounds like Fett is on the back burner and could make an appearance at any moment.
Well with only a few days away to the opening of The Force Awakens will we see the most feared bounty hunter?
