With San Diego Comic Con International right around the corner and speculation of what Warner Bros. and DC will be bringing to this years Hall H panel and it could be news about the Green Lantern. Collider.com is reporting that the new Green Lantern movie set to be released in June of 2020 will focus on several Green Lanterns such as Hal Jordan, John Stewart and possibly Guy Gardner, but it depends on who's rumors you believe. Latino-Review is reporting that Guy Gardner will not be featured and that the film will focus on Hal and John.
With these rumors it could be that the Lantern Movie will focus on the Lantern Corp. and not just a single Lantern. With San Diego Comic Con just two weeks away it is a real possibility that Warner Bros. will introduce the Green Lantern(s) at their panel in Hall H on Saturday. If DC and Warner Bros. do announce anything at this years Comic Con it could be to reveal that The Lantern Corp or members of the Lantern Corp will show up for the two Justice League movies in 2017 and 2019, but it is less likely that the Lantern Corp. or a Green Lantern will pop up in next year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which has completed its filming. Announcing such information could be good for DC and Warner Bros. since it would make-up for the lack of news of last years panel, but also they can take the thunder away from the Marvel Cinematic universe who will not be in attendance to this years Comic Con.
Now of course the film is in the development stage and things could change, but casting news is heating up about the possibility of who will play who in the Green Lantern Move. Rumor is that Chris Pine (Star Trek) who was in the running for the 2011 Green Lantern movie is now in the running to play Hal Jordan who was previously in talks to play Steve Trevor in the up coming Wonder Woman movie set to be released in 2017. It is also widely known that Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious) has been lobbying to play John Stewart.
