Each player chooses a New Gods DC Super Hero or Super-Villain to play as: Orion, Mister Miracle, Big Barda, Kalibak, Granny Goodness, or Darkseid. Then, players shuffle in the pack’s 26 new main deck cards into any DC Deck-Building Game base set, instantly adding all-new Equipment, Villain, Hero, and Super Power cards.
“We wanted to make the DC Super Hero and Super-Villain abilities god-like,” commented Matt Hyra, lead designer of the game. “Their abilities don’t do much in the early game, but once your deck gets going, the effects go far beyond anything players have seen to date.”
When using this pack, players try to conquer the opposing faction’s Homeworld—New Genesis or Apokolips—instead of a stack of DC Super-Villains. Each faction has a stack of three Homeworld cards, each one more difficult to defeat than the previous. Cards with the keyword “Protector” reduce the Power of conquer attempts, potentially thwarting them. When either Level 3 Homeworld is defeated, the game ends and players count VPs to determine the winner.
DC Deck-Building Game Crossover Pack 7: New Gods will be available at retailers nationwide July 11 for a suggested retail price of $13. It requires a copy of the original DC Deck-Building Game or one of its standalone expansions—Heroes Unite, Forever Evil, or Teen Titans—to play.
