Convention Connection: 2017 Long Beach Comic Con @LongBeach_CC
Greetings fellow Freaks, Geeks, and Nerds! This weekend (September 2nd and 3rd) is Long Beach Comic Con brought to you by the great people of MAD Event Management. If you’ve never been to LBCC then you’re missing out. Not as big as San Diego Comic Con, but LBCC is a celebration of comic books and pop culture that showcases the exceptional works of talented writers, artists, illustrators and creators of all types of pop cultures, and it’s a ton of fun.
This year the folks at MAD have upped the stakes by bringing in some serious heavy hitters from the world of film and cosplayers. Here’s a small list of just some of the MANY guests set to appear this year; Keri Bean from NASA (@PlanetaryKeri), writer Tony Bedard (@TonyBedard), artist Pierre Bernard, Jr. (@pbdotman), Bernie Bregman from Nerd Like us (@berniebregman), writer Amanda Deibert (@amandadeibert), artist and writer Tony Fleecs (@TonyFleecs), artist Tom Hodges (@hodgesart), cosplayer Maid of Might (@Maid_of_might), NerdBot Girl Stephanie Sandmeier (@RisuKim), and the Legendary James T. Kirk, actor William Shatner (@WilliamShatner). I wanted to lead with Shatner, but thought everyone would stop reading after that, lol. Along with some great guests there is also a ton of great exhibitors scheduled, including; Agents of Cosplay (@AgentsOfCosplay), Aspen Comics (@AspenComics), Cosplay Culture (@CosplayCulture), Badass Jody Houser (@Jody_Houser), Mad Masks (@MadMasks), Boston Metaphysical Society (@MHollyRosing), The Mandalorian Mercs (@mandomercs), OZOBOT (@OZOBOT), and so many more. If you haven’t been to Long Beach Comic Con in the past or if you have and it’s been a while then I suggest going online and snagging a ticket. You can still get tickets by clicking Here. Conventions times are; Saturday 10:00 am – 7:00 pm (9:30am if you buy your tickets in advance), and Sunday 10:30 am – 5:00 pm. (10:00am if you buy your tickets in advance).
Constant Collectible will be represented on site by our own writers Hannah Heath (@_HannahHeath) and Susannah Metzler (@ateawithtumnus), and i’ll be there too (@ChadGriffin12) conducting interviews, snapping tons of photo’s, attending panels, and checking out all of the artistry.
