Another year of San Diego Comic Con is here and last night (Friday July 21, 2017) the annual Eisner Awards were awarded.  Here is your list of winners:

RUSS MANNING AWARD

  • Anne Szabla, writer-artist of Bird Boy (Dark Horse)

The award is presented to a comics artist who, early in his or her career, shows a superior knowledge and ability in the art of creating comics. It is named for Russ Manning, the artist best known for his work on the Tarzan and Star Wars newspaper strips and the Magnus, Robot Fighter comic book, and a popular guest at the San Diego convention in the 1970s.

Saga, by Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples which is published by Image Comics took top honors with four awards and was another great night for the comic industry.
