GRASS KINGS #2. Grass Kings, the all-new original comic book series from writer Matt Kindt (Mind MGMT) and artist Tyler Jenkins (Peter Panzerfaust), debuted March 8th and the oversized, first issue sold out the day of release at the distributor level.

“We’ve been absolutely floored by the support we’ve seen for Grass Kings,” says Filip Sablik, President of Publishing & Marketing, BOOM! Studios. “When the first issue’s orders came in over 50% higher than Matt’s most recent original series, we knew our retail partners were supporting us in a big way. This is a powerful, slow burn story and we wanted to encourage fans to buy in on the singles rather than waiting for the collection.”

Grass Kings is a rural mystery centered around the tragic lives of three brothers who rule a trailer park kingdom that’s a beacon for the hopeless, the lost, and the desperate poor seeking a promised land. But will one brother’s decision to take in an enigmatic young woman destroy everything the Grass Kings have built?

Synopsis: Robert takes in the mysterious woman from the lake and opens up to her about his missing daughter—a daughter that would be about the same age as the woman in front of him…

Grass Kings is the most recent release from BOOM! Studios’ eponymous imprint, home to ambitious original series such as Victor LaValle’s Destroyer by Victor LaValle and Dietrich Smith; Godshaper by Simon Spurrier and Jonas Goonface; The Unsound by Cullen Bunn and Jack T. Cole; Klaus by Grant Morrison and Dan Mora; and Irredeemable by Mark Waid and Peter Krause.
