TV Time: Krypton gets the Greenlight for @Syfy


Syfy channel officially announced the Greenlight for the pilot episode of Krypton.  Set on the home planet of Superman the series will focus on Kal-El’s grandfather. The house of El has been tarnished and discredited and it is up Superman’s grandfather to put right was was wronged and get the house of El back to the status it deserves.

“Krypton is one of the most iconic stories in the comic book universe,” said Bill McGoldrick, Executive Vice President, Scripted Content, NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment. “In the talented hands of David S. Goyer and the DC Entertainment/Warner Horizon Television team, this exciting Syfy project will take viewers back to Superman’s home to show how the timeless legend began.”

Krypton will be executive produced by David S. Goyer (Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice). Damian Kindler (Sleepy Hollow) will serve as executive producer and showrunner with Colm McCarthy (Peaky Blinders) set to direct and co-executive produce the pilot. The pilot was written and re-written by David S. Goyer & Ian Goldberg (Once Upon a Time).

As far as we know this series will not have any film tie-ins as we reported in episode 4 of Drive Time on our Youtube channel since DC Entertainment does not cross platforms of TV and film.  Will you be checking out the pilot episode of Krypton? Let us know in the comment section below.
