On Screen: The Killing Joke has a release date.

The Batman: The Killing Joke now has a release date thanks to Amazon.com. According to the site Batman: The Killing Joke animation adaptation will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on August 2. The film will be available on Digital HD July 23.

The animated adaptation of Batman: The Killing Joke is executive produced by Bruce Timm and will retell the classic tale. The Killing Joke brings back the voice talents of Mark Hamill (The Joker), Kevin Conroy (Batman) and Tara Strong (Batgirl), and adds Ray Wise (Commissioner Gordon).It will also feature an original 15-minute prologue that helps set up the story, giving even longtime fans of the story something new to look forward to.

  1. Ohhh, so excited to see this! I’m thinking perhaps they’ll add some more scenes to make it longer? I saw Barbra in her batgirl suit and I don’t remember her being suited up at any time in the comic. I’m excited to see this adaptation. Hopefully I can get my hands on a physical copy, but I might have to hold out and see if Netflix will put it up at some point.
