On Screen: Sherlock Holmes 3

Robert Downey Jr. will be headed back to 221 Baker St. for Sherlock Holmes 3.  News is that they hope to begin shooting towards the end of the year and he had this to say:

We’re talking about it right now. We can do some preliminary stuff. If we could shoot it on Skype, we could have the whole [movie] done in a week. When we’re making those ‘Sherlock’ movies it is off the hook. [So] we’ll attempt to make one this year. It really is a big deal to go and do those movies. I’m tired all the time, but I’m so excited about it.”

Sherlock Holmes franchise producer/co-writer Lionel Wigram had this to add.

“We’re working on a ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’ script” Wigram explained. “I think we would all love to do one if we could come up with something that really was really going to knock it out of the park and was going to be the best of the three. So we’re working on that – it’s quite hard to do.”

As of right now the casting is only in the rumor stage, but it seems that Jude Law and Rachel McAdams are set to join the film, which is written by Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3) and Lionel Wigram (Sherlock Holmes). No news on a director, but I hope Guy Ritchie is back especially since his adaptation of The Knights of the Round Table are in post production.

Now I don’t know about you, but I enjoyed the first two films and I look forward to the third.  How do you feel about another addition to the film franchise? Let us know in the comment section below.
