TV Time: Captain Britain headed to TV?

With so many comic book heroes headed to the big screen and little screen it’s not surprising that studios are digging  deep into the comic book vaults.

Rumors are floating around thanks to Ciara McAvoy (Movie Poster Artist) that Captain Britain is headed to the small screen.  In a few recent tweets she had this to say:

For those of you who are not familiar with Captain Britain he was Created by Chris Claremont and Herb Trimpe and first appeared in Captain Britain Weekly #1 (October 1976).  Captain Britain was initially intended to be a British equivalent of Captain America. Endowed with extraordinary powers by the legendary magician Merlyn and his daughter Roma, Captain Britain was assigned to uphold the laws of Britain.

Bleeding to death, Brian Braddock was approached by Merlin and his daughter Roma, who told him that he could live if he became Britain’s next great champion. They offered Brian a choice: The Amulet of Right (Life) or the Sword of Might (Death). Being a scholar and not conceiving of himself as a warrior, Brian chose the Amulet. Sounds like it could be a fun ride and tie-into the upcoming Dr. Strange movie along with the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So any thoughts? I am a little intrigued with the possibility of Captain Britain headed to TV.  With Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Daredevil and the rest of the Defenders I don’t why Captain Britain wouldn’t do well.
