Casting Call: Star Wars Rebels!

Casting Call: Star Wars Rebels!

Calm down folks, this isn’t happening……. yet. If you’re a fan of the TV series like we are here at Constant Collectible then you too will wish that it does. With all of the new Star Wars material coming out in book form and the new movie (Star Wars: Rogue One) scheduled to be released this December it causes us to start daydreaming of all the infinite possibilities. I mean what is it do you think we do all day? Well, let me tell you. We sit here in the Constant Collectible Citadel of Seclusion searching the internet for all the coolest geeky stuff we can find for you all. We daydream of comic book and novel cross overs to movies and who would play our favorite characters, we play X-Wing miniatures on our lunch breaks, we play Quidditch on the roof before work (Hannah always wins), we only see Hannah at Quiddith due to the mounds of books that surround her desk (seriously, it’s a fire hazard), Susannah is usually blaring some sort of musical arrangement from one of her favorite movies all the while trying to tell us about some cool facts about the piece or composer, Johnny is usually nose deep in several comics or is watching a rerun of Vampire Diaries or of course lighting something of fire, and Simon……. well, he splits his time between yelling at us that we aren’t publishing enough (Picture J. Jonah Jameson from Spiderman, but only wearing boxers) or he’s watching 10 computer monitors waiting for some new geeky info to pop up on one of the many web sites he watches while drinking English Black Tea. There, now you know what it’s like around the office here. Oh wait, I forgot about me….. never mind, you probably don’t wanna know.

You could ascertain that I get sidetracked easily, but I really don’t, I swear! So, back at the topic at hand.

I’ve been doing a lot of thinking on this here topic, and here’s what I’ve come up with. We have a diverse group of freedom fighters from various backgrounds and species. Each of these people aboard the modified  VCX-100 light freighter have made the hard decision to rebel and fight against the Galactic Empire and everyone of them for their own specific reasons. So, here’s a list below of who I think would fit well into each role.

The Cast….

Kanan Jarrus = Freddie Prince Jr.

Why not have the guy who voices the character play him? I’m not sure if this has ever been done, but I think it’s perfect to do so now. They don’t look exactly alike, but they are close. Freddie keeps in pretty good shape so I think he could learn to swing a Lightsaber well. I think it would be a smooth transition.

Hera Syndulla – Maggie Q  OR  Zoe Saldana

Maggie Q is no stranger to playing strong independent women. She’s done well in several action movies, has a strong beautiful voice, put some Twi’lek head tails on her, paint her green and I think we have a gorgeous Hera.

Zoe Saldana is also no stranger to action movies. Her roles in Colombiana and Guardians of the Galaxy make her a great choice. Like Maggie, she too has a great voice and figure for Hera.

Sabine Wren = Mila Kunis  OR  Emma Watson

Mila Kunis sure has the looks for the role. Now her lack of experience in action films shouldn’t be a deterrent here. She did OK in Jupiter Ascending.

Now, I’v e been a big fan of Emma Watson for a long while now. Granted, she hasn’t starred in a major action role other than Harry Potter, but shes got the looks and I think it would be really cool to see her get tough and kick some butt!

Ezra Bridger = David Mazouz

I think those of you who watch Gotham will like this. I was a little reluctant when I first watch this kid play Bruce Wayne, but after a couple of seasons on Gotham hes really improved with his acting. Ezra isn’t a big kid, he’s small, a smart ass, and vulnerable. I think David would play him well.

Garazeb Orrelios = Himself

Now, as for poor ole Zeb? Shoot, getting his character on the big screen will more than likely require some serious C.G.I. and it just seems best to use the same voice in the TV series.

So those are my choices folks! I’d love to see what everyone thinks, leave a comment below and lets see if we can get a serious discussion going! Cheers and blessings to you all!
