This week Legoland Windsor revealed one of the biggest models ever created for the U.K. theme park. The Star Wars Death Star was built with 500,000 lego bricks. The Death Star is 7.87 feet wide and 9.84 feet high and weighs over 1800 lbs. The effort to build this weapon of mass destruction took 15 builders three months to build. When installing the Death Star the team needed another full day for lighting and animation, but will also need another six more weeks to add the flying X-wings and TIE Fighters, which will fly around the Death Star.
The Death Star will serve as the centerpiece of a 651,086 display in the Star Wars Miniland which will be held at Legoland Windsor, UK and will open on March 11, 2016.
