According to Deadline.com the sequal to Ridley Scott’s Prometheus has added four more actors, which include Jussie Smollett (Empire), Amy Seimetz (Upstream Color), Carmen Ejogo (Selma) and Callie Hernandez (Machete Kills). This cast will be joining Katherine Waterston (Inherent Vice), Danny McBride (Eastbound and Down) and Demián Bichir (The Hateful Eight) and Michael Fassbender who will reprise his role as David the android.
Alien: Covenant will tie directly into the original Alien film, which was released in 1979 and the 2012 Prometheus. The official synopsis has the story going a little like this:
“Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.”
Alien: Covenant is set for an October 6, 2017 release and is written by Jack Paglen (Transcendence) and Michael Green (Green Lantern). and will be directed by Ridley Scott.
