Free Comic Book Day is not far now and DC Comics has announced a few of their books, but one that stands out is the DC SUPER HERO GIRLS #1 FCBD 2016 SPECIAL EDITION. As a father of a young girl it has been hard to find superheros that are not sexed up and are appropriate for young girls.  This is a great book that ties-in with DC’s webseries.

“At Super Hero High, iconic Super Heroes like Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn, Bumblebee, Poison Ivy, and Katana navigate all the twists and turns of high school. United by friendship, the DC Super Hero Girls empower kids to shine with confidence and courage, especially while they combat those overwhelming, exciting, and awesomely awkward moments of growing up.”

The upcoming special edition is Writen by Shea Fontana, Art by Yancey Labat.

Class is in session! Welcome to DC Super Hero High!

DC Super Hero Girls is an exciting new universe of superhero storytelling that builds character and confidence and empowers girls to discover their true potential.

This special FCBD issue features two exciting, action-packed stories from the upcoming original graphic novel DC SUPER HERO GIRLS: FINAL CRISIS that readers of all ages will enjoy.

It’s the day before finals and the student body is hard at work…and nothing is going right! Wonder Woman spars with Cheetah in gym class as Batgirl and Supergirl watch from the sidelines. In the next class, the girls sit next to an empty seat. Where could Supergirl be?

FCBD 2016 will be held on May 7, 2016.
