Kevin Reilly the TNT president has confirmed that the Akiva Goldsman series Teen Titans has been canceled. The series was reported to feature a line-up including Nightwing, Raven, Starfire, Barbara Gordon, Hawk, and Dove.
In an interview with the Television Critics Association Reilly spoke about the project and he had this to say:
“We decided it wasn’t where we wanted to go,”
So, does this mean that they did not like the series or does this mean that they do not want to get into the superhero genre? I feel that TNT has decided that the superhero genre is not in their wheel house. Now the question is will Teen Titans get picked up by another network? The CW is pretty full with Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, but CBS might have room since they only have Supergirl. These of course are part of Berlanti productions so it safe to say that if Teen Titans see air production it will be on a new network.
