Game On: #Nintendo goes mobile eventually

Back in March 2015 Nintendo announced that they will be partnering with DeNA (pronounced DNA) to bring the world of Nintendo to the mobile platform.  Nintendo has decided to partner with DeNA due to their expertise in the mobile gaming platform and will help port over the massive catalog of Nintendo products to smart devices.

“Nintendo has decided to deploy its video game business on smart devices, but it is not because we have lost our passion or vision for the business of dedicated video game systems

On the contrary, because now we have decided on how we will make use of smart devices, we have come to hold an even stronger passion and vision for the dedicated video game system business than before.”

Nintendo has released one game into the mobile platform, but is not really a game, but rather an app that will allow Nintendo users to create avatars and interact via social media. Miitomo is the first of five mobile apps Nintendo will launch by March 2017.  This first app is not what fans have been waiting for. When you think of Nintendo you think of Mario Bros., Zelda, Donkey Kong and others, but not an internal Nintendo social media app.  Lets hope in the next year we really get some fan service and get Super Mario Bros., Mega Man, Metroid or anything else that is in their wheel house.
