Fox has sent over some images to USA Today of the upcoming Villain on Season 2 midseason finale of Gotham. Actor Nathan Darrow is taking on the role of the coldest villains.
USA Today was given the first look at Dr. Victor Fries, which is pronounced “freeze” who is an accomplished cryogenicist whose beloved wife Nora was stricken with a fatal degenerative disease. Fries placed her in suspended animation while searching for a way to cure her.
According to Fox’s character description of Fr. Fries it is similar to his origin within the DC Comics. “Though ferociously smart and eminently capable in his work as one of Gotham’s preeminent cryogenics engineers, Victor struggles to make meaningful connections with others. The one exception is his wife, Nora (Kristen Hager), who has tragically fallen ill with a terminal disease. Victor’s love for Nora knows no bounds, so as her condition worsens, he goes to extreme measures to figure out a way to freeze her before she dies. This harrowing journey leads to his transformation into the legendary DC villain, Mr. Freeze.”
