From Pages to Screen: Kingkiller Chronicle finds a home with Lionsgate

The Hollywood reporter is reporting that Kingkiller Chronicle series has found a home with Lionsgate.

Lionsgate has closed a complex multiplatform rights deal the pick up The Kingkiller Chronicle, the best-selling fantasy book series by Patrick Rothfuss.

The deal sets up the simultaneous development of movies, television series and video games with the goal to adapt the many stories across the mediums at the same time.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Kingkiller Chronicle it is a first-person narrative of a young man who grows to be the most notorious magician his world has ever seen. From his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, to years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime- ridden city, to his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic.

I am hoping to see this on the upcoming list of books reviewed by our own Hannah for Hannah’s Novel Notations.
