Advertisements is defined by dictionary.com as a paid announcement, any public notice, as a printed display in a newspaper, short film on television, announcement on radio, etc, designed to sell goods,publicize an event, etc Shortened forms ad, advert. Now when I pay for a subscription to a magazine or cable I still see advertisements so it is no great shocker that NETFLIX has begun to test advertisements in several of their markets.
Now before you FREAK OUT, which to be honest we all were for a second Netflix spokesperson confirmed with motherboard “We are running a test to show some of our original programming,” and “As with any Netflix product test, this may never come to all our members.”
So a little sigh of relief, but in order to continue to build such great content the money to build such shows as The House of Cards, Orange is the New Black or pick up exclusives such as friends, The Blacklist and strike a deal with Disney the money needs to come from somewhere. So are we OK with the cost of Netflix rising to meet HBO’s $15.00 a month or do we mind seeing an add before or after a show?
