The rumors are a buzz that Marvel Studios and Sony Studios has an interest in a new Norman Osborne. Norman Osborn was created by writer Stan “The Man” Lee and artist Steve Ditko, and first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #14 (July 1964) as the original and most well-known incarnation of Green Goblin.
So who can fit the shoes of one of marvels most loved villains? How about Matthew-McConaughey.
In a recent interview with IGN, McConaughey was asked about participating in the Marvel cinematic universe “It’s not an area that I’m saying I wouldn’t like to go. I don’t know, it would have to be a script and character that I find interesting and one that I can say I have a personal experience with. I’m not thinking about a genre–I would really like to do this, or I wouldn’t want to do that. Something finds me at the right time, turns me on, and if I can grab hold of it, see it from the inside, I can get a feeling that I can do this, that it would be original.”
Who wouldn’t be more interesting than the spit personality of Norman Osborn and the Green Goblin. Only time will tell. Sony and Marvel have yet to name a director and we still await news of who will play Peter-Parker/Spider-man including the rest of the cast.
Spider-Man is set to be released on July 28, 2015
