With superheros inundating the large screen and small screen it is not surprising that one group responsible for several of those projects is Berlanti Productions. Berlanti Productions is headed by Greg Berlanti and is responsible for shows such as Dawson’s Creek (CW), Brothers and Sisters (NBC), but most recently Arrow (CW), The Flash (CW) and Supergirl (CBS) with DC’S Legends of Tomorrow (CW) in the works.
So Berlanti is open to the idea and with the TV ratings for the Arrow & Flash cross over episodes it set records for these properties. In the same Variety article DC chief content officer Geoff Johns has stated that “The point of building these three shows (Arrow, the Flash & DC Heroes of Tomorrow) out on the CW network is we can make a comic-book world. That’s really the secret formula starting to emerge on television for the first time.” So who’s to say that with the same production company we can’t see a cross over between The CW and CBS. It is rare, but can happen. We have seen characters from Bones (FOX) show up on CSI (CBS) and we have seen characters from Homicide: Life on the streets (NBC) show up on The X-Files (Fox). So it is possible and plausible.
As for Supergirl both Ali Adler (Chuck) and Greg Berlanti (Arrow & The Flash) be writing Supergirl (pilot episode) and they will also be executive producing along with Sarah Schechter (Pan) and Warner Bros. TV. “Supergirl” is set to air Mondays at 8 P.M. EST on CBS beginning in November and maybe the CW at some point.
I can’t wait! I hope it’s awesome! But even if it’s just plain good, I’m so in. :)
