Casting Call: Boba Fett and the Anthology Series

In a recent announcement during the Star Wars Celebration held in Anaheim, Ca, we now know that the first film of The Star Wars Anthology Series will be Rogue Squadron set just before Episode IV: A New Hope and now rumors are floating around that the second of the anthology films will be based on Boba Fett and his origin.

No one really know who this man of mystery is and how he became the most feared bounty hunter in the galaxy, but if you have seen Episode II: Attack of the Clones we know that Boba Fett is A genetic clone of his “father,” bounty hunter Jango Fett. We also know that during the Clone Wars Television program that young Boba keeps company with other feared bounty hunters such as Bossk, Aurra Sing and Cad Bane among other scum and villainy.

Josh Trank (Fantastic Four) was set to direct, but has since left the film due to creative indifference.  It seems that the inconsistency and the lack of decision making during the filming of Fantastic Four  has caused concerns in the eyes of the producer Gregory Goodman.

Now this opens up the chair for a new director and there are several I would not mind filling the vacant seat, but I think it will also depend on the film itself and the style in which they are attempting to create.

My short list looks like this:

Chad Stahelski (John Wick)

Matt Reeves (Dawn of the Planet of Apes)

Rupert Wyatt (Rise of the Planet of the Apes)

Andrew Stanton (John Carter)

Mark Webb (Amazing Spider-Man)
